Tired, that is the word. This weekend was one of the most packed we have had in…..wait the last like 4 weekends have been slammed.
- Anyway, we had a great time Friday night. Bonnie and I spent the evening out on a date. The Scene Lounge and then a movie at Monaco Pictures.
- Saturday, HOT!!!! My son had his first soccer game of the season. His team has a long way to go this year. They scheduled an extra practice to get them going this week.
- The Back 2 School Bash was a success. Great time with the students from Apex and their friends. B-Rob knocked it out as usual. Thanks again to the Dauma’s for letting us use their home.
- Sunday service at Summit was great. Packed out. I am not sure how long we can go only doing two services in that building. Looks like we will be pushing it to hold off until we move into the new building.
- Sunday night we had all the folks from the last Maine Mission Trip at our home. Great getting to see everyone and eat some good BBQ.
Looking forward to the week ahead. Hoping to knock out a bunch of little things that have been on my docket to get done.

We got to go spend a week in Boulder, CO. Amazing place. Let’s get the personal reasons out of the way first. Climate….Just for me. When I stepped off the plane it was a perfect 69 degrees. No humidity. Amazing. The atmosphere there is pretty relaxed. We enjoyed having conversations with people as they ate and shopped on Pearl St. Just a great trip.
Now for planting. Here is the quick things we came away with. I will not put to much into the details on this post, maybe later. Just not feeling like spewing all the insight just yet. Our hearts were broken for the Boulder area. We know that God has called us to move there and be apart of body of Christ in that area. Where? Still narrowing it down to the exact location around Boulder, but HEY, at least we know for sure we are going there. We will be planting a church that focuses on the gospel, discipleship and missional communities. We are very excited and are praying for God to build a team of families who desperately want to see the gospel transform Boulder. Our goal would be to move out there with an army to plant next summer with a core of people. Launch the church somewhere in the early spring on 2012.
So please pray for us, the families, the people of Boulder and for God to continue to guide us in this journey.

When I was 16 yrs old, God began to put in my heart a desire to spread the gospel. I knew exactly what I was going to do. I was going to be a youth pastor. My hearts desire was to see students drop the double life played out in school and church. So, when I was 17 yrs old, I had started attending a church plant that was just a few months old. There were several kids in 6-7 grade that were having to attend a ministry for younger children because there was no program for their age group. I met with the pastor and asked if there was a way that I could help start something for them. I had no idea that this was going to turn out to be a life in ministry.
I was young and did not really know what being in “ministry” looked like. In the following year I graduated high school and continued working with Jr High kids at the church. Skip ahead a few years, God moves us from ministry in Florida to Madison Alabama. For What? We didn’t know, but my wife and I both had extreme drawing in our spirit to be here. We moved, I got a job at the local cable company doing sells. We prayed and worked, hoping God would show us what He had us here for. One year later, we found out. We had moved here to be apart of what He was doing at Summit Crossing Community Church. God was using some great men to start a church with their families that would function like the new testament church is supposed to. With dedication to the teaching of the gospel in its entirety, with a heart to connect people in gospel relationships through small group ministries. We knew that this is where he wanted us. Now, when we moved to Alabama, God began to stir for us this thing of planting churches. I grew up in the idea that churches were old. I honestly had not see a new church being built until 16 when I started at Harvest.
But God had put this in us. What is all this about? God has begun to move us towards planting soon. When? We are not sure. Where? The Boulder, CO area has become a great passion in our hearts. Bonnie and I will make a trip out there at the end of this month to pray and visit. We are asking God to give us confirmation in this calling and to help us with our time line. So we ask for your prayers, that you would join us in seeking God for the body in Colorado.
As this unfolds, I will continue to post what is going on. We are excited about this opportunity, as God is up to something big here for there.

So Passion has released the new album. Our office is filled with the playing of this CD. It is really an amazing set of songs. The new David Crowder song on there, “Like a Lion” is simply amazing. I think it is definitely a song for the Easter series coming up. Take a listen: http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/passion/id79608287
